Weaving wellness into work
Hello and happy December!
I hope your month is off to a good start - realizing it's almost half-way through December already, yikes. The last ten days have been a whirlwind for me, as I've moved into a new apartment (which, you may know, means I dive hard into project-mode and it immediately looks like I've lived there for ten years),plusI kicked off some new December programs, which I am LOVING.
It's making me happy to see people still showing up for themselves via virtual wellness. This year I saw an uptick in corporate offerings, and I love that workplaces are stepping up to offer their employees some extra support amidst their new WFH and zoom-all-day realities. Back in October I was chatting with my friend - a political consultant - about ways to support his team with the stress of 2020 and the impending electing. After our walk I jotted down some of the ideas we had - consider weaving in 1-2 of these today!
Start every meeting with a few deep breaths
End meetings with a round-robin: what’s one thing you feel in control of that you can do to further our cause?
If you are in a senior position (to anybody), think: what would I have wanted a senior/mentor to do in this scenario to feel supported?
Celebrate wins!
Notice your mindset: when you keep telling yourself the house is on fire, it’s gonna feel like the house is on fire. Pause. Acknowledge the workload, but also be realistic. Surely you can find time for a ten minute break.
Lead by example - show your team that their wellness is a priority
Remember: you can’t fill from an empty cup.
Of course, you can also hit me up me for a live wellness session, or even a weekly wellness email to your team ;) Learn more about all that here.
But whether you're zoom-fatigued, working from home, on an adventure, or just not sure which way is up anymore, I want to support you and encourage you to support yourself as we wrap up this year - so I whipped up a new coupon code for a free class during the month of December :)
Check out the December schedule here and type the code TREATYOSELF at checkout!
I hope you can find some small (and big!) ways to weave wellness into your month. Stay tuned as I cook up offerings for January and beyond (hint: retreats!!).
