Quarantine life

It’s natural to be feeling a ton of anxiety right now. Losing our regular routines and wondering just how long our world will look like this and how much farther it will go is a scary & unfamiliar existence. But remember that within you are the tools to keep yourself feeling mentally well. Here’s a few of my ideas on how to approach this week and give yourself some balance and structure where it feels like there’s none...

1. Make plans to “hangout” with friends 🎧 My coffee dates and weekly catchups have all gone virtual. We can literally sip coffee, watch a tv show, or do an online course together without physically being together. Reach out, make plans, put it in your calendar 🗓

2. Commit to a wellness practice 🍵 What will you do for your body AND MIND during this time? There’s more online resources than ever to meditate & practice yoga (I’ll be offering both). Stick to a morning routine, even if it looks different than your usual one.

3. Consider how you’ll burn energy off 🔥 That pent-up feeling is like the pressure building in a bottle of soda (or kombucha 🤗), how will you pop the cap and release the bubbles? Go for a run, do an at-home workout, have a dance party, have sex... just get the blood flowing.

4. Consider how you’ll get outside ☀️ We all need some vitamin D and fresh air, and some will really feel the effects of staying inside. Can you spend more time near an open window, get out for a walk/bike ride, or sneak onto your roof/fire escape/balcony?

5. Name something you’re excited to tackle ✅ You finally have the time you’ve always wanted to get shit done! Pick 1-3 projects you’ve been putting off and schedule time to work on them.

6. Name something you’re gonna do just for fun 🤸🏻‍♀️ If you’re like me, you already have a long list of “productive” things to do with this time, but remember we need to laugh & play to keep our minds well, too. Have a dance party, tackle a puzzle, plan a wine-and-trash-tv virtual hang with your bestie.

Keep an eye out for how I’m incorporating each of these things, and let me know how I can support you during this time! I’ll be leading a meditation and yoga session online everyday - check out instagram for more info.
